Prusa i3 MK3(S)

Daily Hacking: How to upgrade to a Thermocouple Sensor within 3.5h

Today our printer took up a huge amount of filament and collected it all around the nozzle and heater block. When I tried to get all the partly cooled down PETG off the hotend, I broke the wires of the thermistor cartridge.

So what to do, if a job has to be finished the same day, and there is no spare thermistor cartridge at hand?

I reprogrammed our reflow controller for soldering SMT PCBs, to measure the nozzle temperature and output an analog voltage, that the Prusa expects on it's thermistor input: 0-5V. It works great.
